Hi all, I was just wondering is it possible to get toned just from using kettle bells and running. I have started to loose the weight from eating less, however I want to start toning it all up now especially the baby belly area. Does anybody out there have any before and after pics from just using kettle bells. I think I need to see results to keep me motivated! Thanks

I don't have pictures but I love using my kettlebells. I only run and use kettlebells and have lost over 80lbs so far.

The kettlebell can give you an all over workout so it's not just for arms. There are loads of excercise videos and programs you can look up on the Internet to follow.

Others may say you need different weights but I can store my kettlebells and travel with them if needed. They are affordable and I can use them in the house so I don't need to go to the gym.

I use them for cardio and toning. I try HIITS with them for about an hour.

    I love kettlebells. X

    Good luck. X

you can get a good workout from kb's depending on the lifts and the weights you are using.

I do kettlebells 3 times a week and running three times a week. I've done running for over 8 years, but only started kettlebells last year, the kb's are making a huge difference. I'm so much stronger now and there is definite muscle definition where before there was none. I do a kb class on a friday, and the rest of the time I follow the kb workout videos by BodyFit by Amy on Youtube. I started out with just a 6kg kb, but that one is now put away as it's too light, I now use 8kg and 12kg.

Kettlebells are an excellent workout but you'll likely plateau sooner than you think.

The nice thing about some kettlebell workouts is that you can always up the difficulty with the reps. This applies especially to ballistic movements like swings and snatches, where you can hit a plateau on weight but can set a goal of, say, 100 swings in 5 minutes, then 200 swings in 8 minutes, etc., which obviously makes more challenging, though those are more strength/cardio hybrid movements.

Thanks folks. Bluepegasus I've been doing the body fit by Amy as well. I'm enjoying it. I don't have a lot to loose so its more about toning and keeping fit. I don't have time for the gym with two young kids, work and a hubby who works shifts, it's impossible to fit that in too so hence opting for kettle bells. Thanks again.
