Alright so as we all know weight loss can be frusterating . Well heres my story if youll listen...
2 plus years ago i went thru a very emotional life shattering experience. I was depressed jad anxiety and in turn was at my lowest weight ever. 108 lbs. (Yes i am aware thats not healthy)
The thing about it..i was not trying to lose weight..i was so preoccupied i just never ate nor could stand the thought of food.
I lost 25 lbs in 2 months.
Fast forward to now...i gained it alllll back..and then some. I weigh what i did while i was pregnant! I am miserable...and the weight has gotten harder to lose.
My biggest gripe is counting calories. I miss how before weight loss was so effortless. When i count calories all day long..i begin to get obsessive and qukte frankly..it makes me hungry and think of food all day long.
Has anyone been through a similiar situation?
Do you struggle with the constant math of calories that it stresses you out ??

I actually enjoy it, I use to hate calorie counting until I found this app, I find it fun and idk about you but I've suffered a lot as well, it's felt like my life's been out of control and in the past, I used eating disorders to get 'control' over my weight, sure weight loss came faster but once I starred eating again, just like you I gained it all back plus some. Now I've found calorie counting is a great way to get control back, this app, the boards, the logging, it's all helped me get through something very traumatic that happened to me this last year. It's helped me stop drinking (I logged my rum intake and omg no bueno!) It's helped me overcome ptsd flashbacks, when I get upset I just get on here, go to the boards, read about success, diets, fitness, calm down and move on. Try to see it as a good way to gain control back over your life, don't see it as tedious, take everyday one step at a time. If you need to talk to anyone feel free to add me I'm on everyday and am always willing to lend an ear3

I find that I eat the same things over and over so I don't really have to think about it too much. Like Obama wearing the same suit over and over. I was always thin 103 soaking weight and got into an abusive marriage and gained 100lbs. I lost down to 150 and gained it all back after some personal tragedies due to comfort eating. I like not having to worry about to fix and will think about variety when I'm about 20 lbs from goal.1

Thats a great idea...eating things you are familiar with. Good luck with reaching your goal!!1

There have been times that I hate it. Sometimes I need a break from it. In addition to MFP, I also use an app called YouFood. It's for logging meals just by taking a picture (no calorie counting). It's like an Instagram just for food. You follow people, and other people follow you. It's inspiring and keeps you accountable even if you occasionally skip the calorie counting.
On the other hand, counting calories, even in the beginning, is a useful tool.
Another idea is to meal prep lunches and, where possible, dinner. Plan a few meals you can prep and pack up (some that can be frozen as well). Make your shopping list and set a day aside (an hour or two should do to meal prep...you can throw several things in the oven at once).
Measure each food (food scale) and pack up. You'll then know the calories for each and every meal minimizing the tediousness of counting calories.
You'll then just have breakfast to worry about, if you eat breakfast.1
