Water Retention from Humidity

We are headed into our third of high humidity, not something we typically have here in VT. My weight jumped up almost 10 pounds in two weeks most likely from water retention. There must be a lot of people on here from the southern states where humidity is common. How long can I expect this water retention to last? I'm drinking tons of water all day long to help, but its so frustrating when I get on the scales...

I am a daily weigher and charter from Pennsylvania. My own chart and some research online shows that if it stays hot for 3-4 days your body will acclimate and shed some of that water. Also when the weather breaks it will drop off quickly,

I limit my sodium, and in our beastly JERSEY heat/humidity, I've been much, MUCH less bothered by bloat. My sodium level is typically about 500 (mg? mcg?) per day, as opposed to 2250 or so, the national average.

In NC and same thing has happened to me, I don't expect a cooler spell until October.

It has been so humid in CT.. I weigh more today than I have in probably a year.. I thought it might be the humidity as
I have been under calories.. I am up almost 4lbs... Hope it breaks soon.

Living in a humid area we do the best we can to survive in the summer months....today for example will be in the high 70's with temps in the high 90's and no it is not raining and no it is not about to rain this is just kind of average humidity and heat for us in the summer. We really have to watch the amount of salt consumed, drink lots of water and get in the water when possible....there are days when you wake up an cannot budge the rings off your finger when other days they are loose....

just curious, but what are you eating that you can stay less than 500 mg of sodium?

I'm from Texas, lived in Houston my entire life, and I have somehow never thought that the awful humidity and heat here would have anything to do with my water retention! I thought I just ate too much food with sodium and didn't drink enough water! Thanks for the info!
