Eating out of boredom. We all do it. Figure out when and where you are doing it and get away from there. Change the routine. When I come home from work and am waiting for dinner to be ready, If I wait in the kitchen, the cashews ALWAYS win. Always. If I take the kids and get out of the house or go upstairs and get something done, or better yet do a project, I save myself 300 calories. On the days that I'm sitting at my desk bored, all I can think about are snacks. If I leave my desk and do something else: teach, work with my employees, walk to the other side of the campus, run errands, then... what do ya know? Two hours have gone by and I wasn't hungry after all.

Not to be rude, but you provide little information in your question. Are you snacking with unhealthy foods? Healthy foods?

Is it a mental health issue related to stress, anxiety, or depression?

What are you doing when you are snacking? My advise would be to find an other activity that you can do instead of snacking. If you are at home I'd say take a walk. If you are sitting at your desk then I'd say chew gum or drink some water. It really does just boil down to deciding that you won't snack when you aren't hungry. You might just have to find a way to distract yourself until you make new habits.
