Cyborg seeks to upgrade - 80lb loss in my future?

Hello all!

So, I'm not REALLY a cyborg, but I like cyborgs as a concept (I may watch a lot of anime). I mean, a malleable form only limited by technological advancements and biological tolerance? Sounds kind of awesome.

In reality I'm an admittedly weird human who suddenly gained a lot of weight (50lbs+) after a traumatic series of situations. I was trying to be okay with it...until my knees started hurting and cracking all of the time and an old back injury started acting up painfully for the first time in over a decade.

This weight, it's making me feel my not so advanced age and is doing detrimental things to my health. I cannot continue to embrace the fat and quirky lifestyle that I was rocking. I need to lose some poundage.

I need a community to help. I need inspiration, support, and weird conversation. I'm an introvert, but I love my internet communication methods. I also need to be a data nerd and have neat new toys to mess with. I love learning new things, but with the ADHD, I become bored quickly. MFP has a lot going for it in the novelty and social interaction department. I suspect that I will stick with this for a while.

So..Hi! *Waves*

Addendum: I am totally into friending geeky types like myself!

So if you love your video games, science, literature, anime, manga, comic books, pulpy fantasy and sci-fi novels, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and the like, reach out! We can nerd out together whilst we optimize our physical forms.
