Understanding the daily nutrition panel ~ thanks!

Hi there, I’m new to MFP and I am learning that I am not getting enough various nutrients from the summary (marked Daily) nutrition panel.
How do we know what we should get and not get? Have you found any good online resources to guide individuals?
I’ve been following WW for 9 years and trying to get their daily recommendations, but I see that is not enough.
If anyone can share their experiences with me, that would be wonderful.
I appreciate your help!

I do believe your vitamins, iron and calcium should be a priority. Try and find foods that have high contents of them and see how it makes you feel after a while. I find that I feel much better when I eat foods with good nutrients rather than just sticking to calories/fat/carbs contents. Try and stay under your sodium limit and sugar as well (that's quite hard though). What you have to be careful with on MFP is that some people don't enter nutrients properly on the database. It is an amazing database and it has so much in it, but I find myself editing foods everyday, because people didn't bother to do it properly, skipped some nutrients or made mistakes. If you have some cheese and see that is has 0 fat, 0 calcium or 0 sodium in it, you have to go back and edit rather than think your nutrients are wrong! I find healthaliciousness.com and caloriecount.about.com really help me out when it comes to finding out what's in my food. You can even copy/paste a recipe in caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php and it'll analyse it for you! Genius!0

What are your specific concerns? The nutrients that I personally like to keep an eye on are potassium, calcium, iron, vit A, and vit C.0

Marie, thanks for all that info – I really appreciate it. Thanks for the calorie count link – that’s awesome. Now that I have expanded beyond counting points, I need a little more direction on figuring out the recipes. Thanks again.
Gorman, I don’t have any specific concerns, more along the lines of what I should be focusing on. I take a multivitamin, but that’s not the answer. I will look for foods with are more nutrient dense.0
