I'm 22 years old and have next to no muscles in my chest area. I know you have to gain fat before you can gain muscle, i was just wondering what foods would be best for me to eat and exercises i can do at home to increase my chest size. Any input would be helpful :)

I don't think you need to gain fat at all to gain muscle. Do pushups and bench presses to gain chest muscle.

Make sure you are isolating your chest muscles when you do push ups or any chest exercise for that matter. Make sure you are "locked", clavicles in your back pocket so to speak. Focus on feeling your chest squeeze. Many use too much arm in chest exercises due to form being a bit off.

You can also mix it up a bit til you get to the gym by doing variations ... feet on a chair, hands on a chair, wider or closer grip, etc.

is this just to change the intencity of the exercise and the way the muscule forms on your chest?

It hits the chest from different angles. Close grip will work your triceps more, etc. Google pushups, there are many different variations.
