Switching Gyms

Well now I'm in desperate need of a new gym...I had a horrible experience with California Family Fitness.
California Family fitness is a joke. They have no problem holding onto money and double charging for services rendered. I had a 6 month body-fit membership where they take $99 per month out of your account for 6 months. On June 10th, I was charged $198; double of what should have come out. So I called the body fit assistant manager that same day, Shayne, to ask what happened and ask for a refund. Shayne said he would reach out to corporate and take care of it within a week. I didn't get the refund by June 17th so I called Shayne again, he said that he had reached out to corporate to make sure that there weren't any more duplicate pending charges. I asked again "where is my refund for the June charges?" and he told me he'd call corporate again and wait another week.
So I called Wells Fargo today and there is no pending refund and I still don't have the refund in my check. So today, I called the corporate office instead of the Laguna location to voice my complaint. The first time I called they told me, I got a woman named Christina, who told me that she didn't see the 2nd charge and that I'd have to send them proof from my bank. Christina told me she'd email me so I would be able to communicate with her directly. I waited 1 hour & 45 mins but never got the email on where to send my proof of being double charged so I called back.
When I called back, I spoke to a guy named Tim, and he was like "oh I'll have someone research this and call you back"; he took down my name and number, So even corporate is useless. This is my 2nd week waiting for a refund of $99 and no one seems to be able to help me get a refund when I was double charged for Body Fit. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone and as soon as my body fit contract is up, I plan on cancelling my gym membership all together and encouraging everyone I know to do the same

Sucks. If they have a Facebook page copy and paste what you posted on there. Most companies monitor their social media and want to see positive things on there

Yelp is a good place to send your opinions. What a bunch of turds they are. I had the same thing happen to me. Be the squeaky wheel.2
