Leg swelling on Ketosis diet reduced

Hello I'm sure there are other Ketoers here. My legs started to swell like crazy yesterday and continued through today. Looking for answers, I found that people suggested drinking more water and monitoring potassium intakes. Around that time I ate beef for the first time in about a year. I've never had issues with burgers or beef before, but I hadn't eaten like I do now. I eat so many more greens than I used to and I know I had been super low on potassium back in those days, so I am skeptical of that idea. I drink plenty of herbal tea to help stay hydrated. I've noticed that I am always able to drink more herbal tea than cool water, and I always feel more hydrated from warm water.

My guess it's not just one thing. It has to be a combination. I used to live off coffee, croissants, pizza and the occasional burger along with a fair amount of greens and fruit. Btw I don't drink coffee anymore, not even decaf. I recommend everyone to quit those toxins.

Tonight after eating a 6 oz portion of salmon cooked in coconut oil and 50g of broiled kale chips in olive oil, my swelling went down a good amount in about 45 minutes. I also elevated my feet while perusing the internet. I was shocked to see how high salmon is in potassium. I thought potassium was just a banana, veggie thing.
My guess is that maybe I need more potassium with such high fat and that I need to stay away from everything but my local farmer's eggs and wild caught fish. Which I am happy with since I used to be vegetarian long ago and cows are raised terribly and so sickly. I'm sure chicken is great as well but again I don't want to eat a malnourished sick animal. And yes grass fed and free range are a joke in the grocery store. Read up on the reality of those misleading ideas.

The foods that are high in potassium that I verified using the USDA website are soybeans (not tofu!), spinach, mushrooms, and salmon. Acorn squash and other squashes as well, but they are also higher in carbs so keep those to a smaller portion.

Right now I'm going to pull an epsom salt bath and hope that offers even more relief.

Please get to a doctor as soon as possible. This may not be keto-related and you really don't want to take the chance, do you? Best to get checked out instead of self-diagnosing on the internet. ;)

You could be lowin sodium too. Some of us lose swelling with added salt (3000-5000 mg per day). It seems backwards but it is often true.

If just one leg continues to swell, the advice to see a doctor might be a good idea. Best wishes.
