Do you go by the calories set by MyFitnessPal or do you calculate your BMR and use those calories?

You would want to take your deficit from your TDEE, not BMR. When done correctly the numbers should pretty much match. MFP + exercise calories should be pretty equal to TDEE minus your deficit. Same numbers but different way to get there.1 -
Thanks! I had read an article about BMR so I will calculate my TDEE and see where I stand.0

I adjusted it according to my rate of loss or lack thereof.
The suggested daily goal is usually close to spot on, but we all vary a bit so just listen to your body.1
