Do you go by the calories set by MyFitnessPal or do you calculate your BMR and use those calories?

    I go by what MFP has set for me

    You would want to take your deficit from your TDEE, not BMR. When done correctly the numbers should pretty much match. MFP + exercise calories should be pretty equal to TDEE minus your deficit. Same numbers but different way to get there.

    Thanks! I had read an article about BMR so I will calculate my TDEE and see where I stand.

    I adjusted it according to my rate of loss or lack thereof.
    The suggested daily goal is usually close to spot on, but we all vary a bit so just listen to your body.
