I do well during the week! I see good results! And then when the weekend comes around, I can't see to control myself very well. I can do the best I can to plan my food but my weekends are never structured enough for me to stick to it well. Also, I have so much free time on my hands that my comes to mind easily!
What are some tricks that you all at MFP have to help you have successful weekends that do not ruin your whole week?
Thanks!

I exercise more at weekends which makes up for at least some over-eating.0

Mine is a very simple but complicated answer. To lose the weight follow the mfp guides and it's a simple CICO.
The though part is You have to find a why that motivates you. This lifestyle change is a mental game and you have to know why you want to do it.
In my opinion and it's worked for me you have to find a personal why. that why has to be totally selfish it can't be for your significant other it can't be for the kids and can't be for the family it totally has to be about you. By that why being totally selfish all the other whys we'll take care of themselves. Once you find that why this becomes easy.1 -
I don't avoid it I plan to manage it, my daily goal is 1750 cal/day, I eat 1650 x5 days a week and 2000 calories x2 days a week. It means if I go out to dinner or have a glass of wine or two when socialising I can keep in my goals for the week.
If I know I'll be out and have less control over food available I will eat lighter during the day.
I pre log my main meals and then can use spare calories for whichever snacks I fancy.4 -
Learning self control and telling yourself "no".1

I plan for it. We both work and have two kids under the ages of 3 so Sat night is a takeaway and chill with a movie. I log the takeaway Friday night or Sat morning and then I know what I have left to work with. And just make choices. Last weekend we had a cooked breakfast which was beautiful, but I had it around lunchtime so it was breakfast and lunch which gave me extra calories. Or if we are out and in a food court, I go to Subway coz they provide all their calories and I can eat with friends while still staying relatively low on calories. Look at what challenges or choices you have at weekends and figure out the best solution for you and your weight loss.0

Even in maintenance I eat at slight deficit during the week to bank calories for weekend eating. It works beautifully
I eat approx 1900 cals Mon-Thu and then on the weekend approx 2200-2400. (I'm very active, even have active rest days)
When I was losing I ate approx 1600-1800 cals during the week and around 2200 on the weekends to lose 1/2lb a week.

Eating is an action. It requires lifting, inserting, and swallowing. Remove any of those actions, and you'll have found the way.
Seriously, I just don't put food in my mouth, if I don't need it.0 -

I really don't have this problem, except when it comes to challah and butter. Since challah is a weekend "necessity," I just have to be careful, because I can get carried away! You can do this, too.0

Save calories across the week - a hundred or so a day gives you an extra 1400 calories for weekends
move more
Consider your calorie defecit as a weekly not a daily allowance and manipulate it to suit your lifestyle
Have go to foods - batch cook - so you aren't sitting there wondering what you feel like eating
Enjoy everything in moderation so nothing feels like sinning0 -

Yep, pretty much this... I also try to do different exercise or incorporate it into my plans on the weekends, we hike most Sunday mornings (after stopping for doughnuts) and on Saturdays I will often walk to the farmers market at the park about 1.5 miles from our house.
