Does anyone know about Hypertension Diets other than the DASH Diet? I would like a variety of diet plans to chose from in order to plan my meals.
THANKS!

my doctor has suggested less than 1500g of sodium a day. Other than than I don't follow a special diet. However the dash diet was helpful in determining which foods would keep me under 1500. Check out some books at your local library.1

The DASH diet is recommended by most medical professionals for hypertension. It's a pretty flexible plan, but if you choose not to follow it, you should first ask your doctor or a Registered Dietitican.0

I don't know what your starting weight is, and people have different factors contributing to hypertension, but I just wanted to share that losing weight without any special BP plan took my pressure from 160/90 to 112/63 at my recent Dr. appt.2
