When I feel down about how much I have lost and how far I have to go, there is always one situation that cheers me up.

I don't drive so when I do a grocery shop I have to lug everything up the hill back home. It's only a 10min walk but it absolutely kills carrying that extra weight. As soon as I get in, I like to jump on the scales with the groceries, then let go of the groceries and weigh myself again to see how much weight I was carrying. Sometimes its only 10lbs or sometimes (like today) it was 22lbs.

That's when I stop and think, wow I've actually lost more than that. I used to be carrying that weight around every single day! It helps put things into perspective that I have come a long way and so I feel much happier because I can feel the difference.

Maybe next time you come home from a shop, maybe give your groceries a weigh so you can feel your difference.
