Water Intake

I've been trying to increase the water I drink throughout the day. When tracking my water, does it only include pure, basic, plain water? If I have a glass of iced tea or use flavor packets in my water like Crystal Light or something count? I like to have a little flavor in my water so it isn't so bland, but wondered if it still counts and is just as healthy.

Yes, that works! Even food like vegetables and fruit give you lots of hydration. Welcome to the site!

In my opinion it means any liquid, but since I mostly drink just water that is the only liquid I track. It helps me to have one water bottle (mine is 30 oz) and I have set times that I know I should have a bottle finished.

Another idea of adding: 1 tbsp of Real Lemon to a glass of water.

Thanks! I'm not new to the site, been using it for years, but never posted on the forums before! I was just giving examples of things added to water; I love adding lemon to mine. Water just gets bland and I don't want to drink it because it doesn't taste good and gets boring. I like to spice it up a little, but wanted to make sure that, and other non water drinks, can count too.

The blandness is how I drink so much of it. If it tasted like coffee or something sweeter I couldn't drink 44oz in a matter of 30min-hr like I do. I drink so much, that even putting in too much ice makes it too cold to drink fast so I just drink it straight out of the tap. HOWEVER, that is mainly during the week. For some reason, I have a harder time getting 8cups of water in on the weekends. That's when I usually drink unsweetened iced tea so IMO that counts as my water.
