I use mfp periodiocally to check my nutrients and also use a simple food diary to manage my daily intake.. It's taken me over a year and a half but I think I am finally feeling better after struggling with weight gain from medications, poor diet, stress, etc... I was 220lb at 5'9" with 40" waist and now I am at 203lb with 36" waist. I mostly make sure I eat at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies each day and avoid high GI foods as much as my willpower will allow. I do some light lifting, climb a lot of stairs and do a lot of caregiving for our 90 year old parents. I am still trying to ditch another 20 lbs or at least until my bloodwork looks good again. Wish me luck!
