Conflicted on bulking vs cutting!

Please help. I want to bulk to get some more glute muscles, but I've already been on a bulk and I've gained some fat that I'm not happy with, so I want to cut. Also my powerlifting knee sleeves are starting to get tight so I think that might stop me from bulking. I'm restarting my strength program starting Monday so the extra cals would be good for me.

I know this post is probably something that I need to figure out for myself, but if anyone has any advice on knowing when it's time to cut or bulk, please let me know.

OP, you are on the bulk now? I am bulking too and my fat gain is not all that pretty either, but instead of stopping the wagon and veering off, I decided to do 5 more pounds (I am 4 from goal) over the next 2 months. I am gonna take my strength gainz and power through the fat ganiz.. I started it now I am gonna finish it.

If you are at a good point in your lifting and if you can stand a little more time on this, why not give it your all and then cut it all off..

My husband likes me at this "bulk" look.. what does he know? LOL

My lifting sleeves (elbow/arm) are tight too, and I actually have to take them off when I do certain exercises and sweating in them is terrible.

Unfortunately its a harzard of bulking that you temporarily have to livewith. In the end, is a little fat worth your ultimate goal or do you want to cut and still not be happy? Fat is inevitable, especially for women. But it can be addressed.

But if bulking isnt your thing, you can cut until you are lean and then try a recomp. They are slow but might work if training and nutrition is on point.

Be sure to include glute focused exercises like barbell hip thrusts. Slow bulk to gain muscle w/ minimal fat, cut to reduce body fat%.
