Does Extreme Makeover Weightloss make anyone else crazy?

I don't know why I continue to watch this 2 hour long Walmart commercial, but I do. Though I actually did like last night contestant, but all the crying was starting to piss me off. My biggest issue is the skin removal surgery. I whole heartedly believe that these people should not get such drastic surgery until they can prove that they can keep the weight off for at least a year. I can't believe that a doctor would even agree to do the surgery without a waiting period. From their own website, only 2 previous contestants are profiled as a "where are they now" (both promoting Walmart BTW), both have gained most or all of the weight back. This is the 3rd season, shouldn't there be at least one long-term success story?

i don't disagree. i like the trainer. he does dispense some broscience i disagree with though. i just think they rush these people into skin removal surgery without giving the body some time to snap the skin back on its own. most people say you need to wait 2 years to see if that will happen, but they rush these people into (i think) for TV purposes. they want to show a complete story to the viewers. i would be surprised if most of them gained it all back. they do change their lives for a year and that's long enough for the lifestyle changes to stick. it's that other show where people are put on a ranch for several weeks that i think sets people up for later failure.
