Trying not to be hurt

Long story short an old friend and I are attempting to reconnect after taking a break. She is getting married in a few weeks so I was just invited to her bachelorette party. Which is tonight. Because my sister canceled.

  • I guess that when she sent out the original invites you and her were not speaking? Would have made things awkward at some point if she said "oh, by the way, I didn't invite you to my bachelorette part because we were not getting on, but I did your sister".

Just put it in the past and enjoy the night. At least you will not wake up tomorrow and hear what a great time everyone else had without you. .

i can see the ouch factor there. so the question is: do you want to go? or do you just feel like you "should" for the sake of recconecting?

if you want to go, go and have a ball. if you don't, tell her that you're so sorry it's on such short notice, but to call you up the next time she wants to get wild and you'll be there.

if you gals are trying to reconnect, just go and have a good time and help her have a good time, too. Its her wedding, so now is not the time to worry about these things. Maybe after the wedding you two can sit down and talk it all out, though. Let her know that being the last minute replacement hurt your feelings a tad...

Who's throwing the bachelorette party? Generally, they're not thrown by the bride. I definitely was invited to a bachelorette party last minute because the bride's sister didn't know of any of her friends, and the bride ended up trying to track people down herself.

You guys are right, I should not be worried about my place on the priority list right now, I am just glad I get to go! Later, if it comes up again, we can cross that bridge.

    Thanks!
