Electrolyte Drink for post workout!!

Here's my dilemma, I love Gatorade and Powerade... but they are full of sugar and contain a ton of sodium. I am looking for a better alternative that will sate my thirst, replace electrolytes, and help re-energize me post workout. I currently already drink a ton of water and drink a protein drink within 10-15 mins after my workouts, so I don't have a problem there. Right now I am trying to keep my sugar content down and stay on a moderate low carb "diet" (150-180 grams of carbs a day). I never really had a problem with this when I was doing such hard workouts because I ate so much sugar and carbs, now that I have changed the way I eat, I have noticed a significant "thirst" during and post-hard workouts. Right now I am using a 40/30/30 (carbs/fat/protein) macros and am getting everything within that range.

Hope this all makes sense and thanks for the advice!!

I either have a regular rehydration drink designed for after having a tummy bug or vomiting (you buy them in boxes of sachets at the pharmacy) or sometimes, coconut water, which is also known to be great for rehydration after an intense workout. I am sure there are also recipes out there for your own electrolyte drinks. I also make sure to have plenty of potassium rich foods as I sweat a lot during my workouts, as in, soaked to the skin sweating.

COCONUT WATER!!!!! It has a lot of electrolytes in the right proportions. In a pinch for sick patients, it has even been used intraveneously, it's great stuff and nothing artificial in it.

How about aminos/BCAAs to drink after or during. No sugars and really is more beneficial than the other stuff.

There are a lot of brands that are putting electrolytes in water now. Smart Water is the most common around here.

My recipe is the juice of a lemon, juice of an orange, splash of raw honey, and a dash of salt. Then I down it like a shot. I like getting what I need from foods whenever possible and I've had excellent results with this drink.

BCAA's taste like kaka..........and they're really not needed if your consuming enough protein throughout the course of the day.

You obviously haven't tasted the right one. Whatever, it beats drinking crap like gatoraide and the such!

A lot of runners use just good old fashion H2O and salt sticks. Nothing wrong with sodium when you've downed a ton of water. I've heard others drink broth but that is mostly when fasting

It's kinda hard to know what you need, considering you think your workout is so irrelevant to what you may need you forgot to detail it.
    So my guess is water.
