HRM Question

Hi there! I just used my HRM for the first time today. I plan to eat back most of my calories. Just for clarification, the HRM calories burned includes calories that I would normally burn sitting on my bum + calories burned from the walk, correct? In other words, eat back how many calories (i.e. 50%, 75%, 90%).
I'm sure I'm overthinking this; however, I want to be careful that I don't over estimate the exercise calories from the HRM.

HRMs are key to really learning how much you are burning, so good for you for getting one! I would eat back all of the calories. At least that's what I did when I lost my original 25 pounds.0

I've just recently got one, and have wondered about this too. It SEEMS like it does, (as it's usually lower than my other estimates from machines or MFP) but I'm not sure. I have a Fitbit too, sometimes I get a bit of data overload at the end of a workout as I compare and contrast all the different numbers. I do try to pick the lowest, underestimate calorie burn (overestimate calories consumed if there is a question).
I get in quite a bit of activity during the day (usually a 1000-1500 exercise credit), so I do TRY to be conservative in eating back my exercise calories ... just in case. Of course other times while I'm not consciously "eating them back" I log my foods and I'm right there barely under goal. I have eaten them all back. But IF I can control myself, I love having an extra 500+ deficit on top of the one built into my goal.0 -
I have never taken the time to subtract out what calories I would have burned from what I did burn - too much hassle. And I've lost the fat & weight just fine.0
