  • Hello from South Carolina, I started my "new me" plan on September 27, 2007 and I weighted in @ 198.8, today October 8, 2007 I'm down to 192. I've lost 6.8 pounds since I've started. I will admit at first it was hard. I try to walk 5 times a week for 60/min. I eat foods high in fiber, (no beards unless wheat) I'm staying away from suger and soda's of any kind. I only drink water and 1 8oz cup of coffee per day. I also try to eat before 7pm each night or no later than 7:30 pm. Also more importantly I eat every 3 hours to keep from getting hungry. Remember you can and you will DO IT!! you have my support.
    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD LUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!

are you power walking getting your heart rate up and keeping it up for the length of time you are doing that exercise? how long have you been walking? when you first begin any exercise your body will respond to but over time it will get used to the exercise and adapt. that is why every 4 weeks you need to change your exercise. if you are not pushing yourself during the exercise then it isn't doing anything for you. i can remember when i began my treadmill programs it was a challenge to make it through the whole program. i refused to quit before completing a program. now i am doing different programs geared towards the intermediate level so they still remain challenging. you also need to incorporate weights into your workout. you need to build muscle, muscle will burn fat even when at rest. no, you won't look like a freak, you can look toned and have good muscle definition and it takes about 30 days to start to see that. what is your diet like? are you eating lean? do you still eat processed carbs like potato chips, cookies, etc? there is an excellent meal plan at abcrunch.com, it is free, it will keep your calories at 1200-1400 per day.
