So im 170lbs and trying to get lean muscle and burn fat at the same time whats the magic combination? So far im doing 40% carbs 40% protein and 20% fat. I feel and see that its working for me. I was doing low carbs before but didnt showed big results regarding lean muscles. Now im consuming between 150-200 carbs. Im 5'9" weighing 170 lbs. Whats ur input? Just curious if i need to lesser my carbs to get ripped???

If it's working for you don't change it. You didn't state your calorie intake but I'm assuming your in a deficit so be sure to keep it that way to continue to lean out. I recently did an ultra cut/rip where I got my bodyfat down as low as I could then lowered my carbs to <30g/day for 5 days then did a 30hr food fast. It was effective (6% bodyfat) but let me tell ya..I wasn't in my right mind for 6 days!1

A bit of semantics, all muscle is lean. Adjusting your carbs won't cause fat loss; calories control that. Adjusting carbs will allow you to deplete glycogen/water storage, which can result in several pounds lose.
Personally, calories and protein are my two goals and I let fats/carbs fall out. But I do tend to get around 250g of carbs a day. I lift 3x a week, HIIT 2x a week and do flexibility on another day. I am down to about 16% body fat @ 175lbs.5 -
@psulemon ty for the input. I guess it depends on each individuals body type and activities. I lift 5x a week cardio 3x, im down 12% of body fat from digital and 10% from manual caliper. I just thought its a lil surprising for me burning fat while consuming more carbs but again if anything i read this article for my body weight i need to consume 2x of grams of carbs per bodyweight which leads me to 300grams per day which i think for me is really difficult0

What article?? You don't need some arbitrary amount of carbs.
For fat loss, you need a calorie deficit. For muscle repair, you need adequate protein. For heart, joint and hormone health (among other things), you need adequate fat intake.
Everything else is up to personal preference.2 -

You need to do what? Can you post this article because that sounds odd.0 -

Honestly at 5'9" and 170 pounds- I'd eat your *kitten* off and lift for a solid year.
You're chasing a fruitless dream- you aren't big enough to look cut up yet. You're just probably big enough to look in shape. But if you want to look bigger- you're going to need to get bigger.
You're only 10 pounds heavier than I am and I'm a woman. I think you're too small to be worrying about looking ripped.
Eat. EVERYTHING.
Lift. EVERYTHING.
Sleep lots.
Lather.
Rinse

I'm 146 pounds and I eat 400g carbs a day. Get them carbs down you the only way to build yourself1

Yep. Although i suspect the article was about somatotypes, which are thoroughly debunked as you know.0 -

what you're doing is essentially re-comp...it is extremely slow and basically a bi-product of just eating well and working out...basically over time you end up with a "fitness body"...not generally a body builder's body. It is extremely slow and you don't pack on a lot of mass...this is why body builder's doing bulking and cutting cycles.2 -
So i get it. Eat more? I know thats my downfall my calorie intake is only 2100 per day 170gram of protein and 200gr of carbs. Trying to eat more but its tough job im scared of eating too much carbs might get me, i know some of my friends that did and looked fat.0

LOL..your not going to have to worry about looking like that unless your going to get some "special" help, even the "natural" competitors who get decently big/cut have achieved that through years and years of hard work. I've been at it on and off (mostly on) for 18 years and you see what I've achieved.

She weighs the same as me and I'm nowhere near her league but still I'm 5'8 at 160lb and at goal body aesthetic and I consider myself fairly fit1 -

... 160lbs is heavy for a woman? that is completely relative and ignorant. i currently weigh just under 175lbs - do i look "heavy"?

I'm not sure what the culture is around where you live but in most of the US, a 160-175 lb woman is out of shape and overly fat. You would be an outlier.1 -

Dude. I'm 5'9", 177... And @JoRocka is way more fit than me. You have a very narrow definition of a "fit woman."3 -
it's a long process, but be patient. You will get there. I've been doing this for about 6 months and I've seen a lot of change, but not at my goal yet. It does take discipline to get there. I've been taking a break every 90 days to keep the monotony and plateaus at a minimum. These next 90 days my aim is to lose another 10-15lbs. I need to get that fat off of me. And keep sexy from going out of style in my neck of the woods....1

thank you for your blunt input; and yes, i live in the US, but i am not OVERLY fat at 5'10" nor am i out of shape.1 -

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic and think I was being rude or not. (I'm being straight here--I have a problem recognizing sarcasm at times and tend to take things literally so I often need to double check.) But I want to be clear that I meant that you would be an outlier because you are very fit with a healthy bf level at that weight, based on your picture alone. I define "overly fat" as having an above healthy amount of fat, whether that is 10 pounds or 50 pounds and don't mean it like "that person has a maybe 10 pounds to lose but that other person is OVERLY fat."
I hope that makes sense.0
