Anyone train for speed?

Thinking about dedicating a couple of days a week to training for speed. I used to run track (sprinter) and would like to see how close I could get to where I was. Anyone specifically train for speed? Any workout routines whether they are strength or cardio is welcomed.

    I assume you're talking about running/sprinting. I'm a cyclist and I am currently train for speed...I have a time trial series this summer to take on...but my guess is that you'll not come across too many full time sprinters here.

    DeFranco has something on speed. I think he suggests not overthinking while sprinting. And prowler push.

    Do farklet or tempo workouts. I'm do hill and sprint work 1-2 days a week. I also lift and run the other days.

    Nice article from eric Cressey on sprinting;

    Spoiler, if you haven't sprinted on a while you have some prework to do.

    Thanks!

    I Never heard of farklet workouts but it turns out I have been doing it for a few weeks now :) On the weekends I take for my dog for a jog/walk/sprints. I strength train 4 days during the week and plan to incorporate specific sprint style workouts Wed and Sat.
