So in the beginning of April of this year, I decided to lose 43 pounds. My goal was to lose 20 by my 22nd birthday which was June 1st because I was going to Miami. Well I surpassed my goal by 2.7 pounds for a total loss of 22.7 pounds. I stayed to a 1200 calorie deficit most days and I exercised 4-5 days a week for at least a hour, sometimes 2. After coming back from my Miami trip, I seemed to have lost my motivation and I cannot get it back for the life of me. I was burnt out to say the least. I've only lost 3 pounds since I came back and that was probably the week after I came back. Since then, I have been eating really whatever I want, and my gym trips have been becoming less frequent. Somehow through this all, I have managed to maintain my weight for the past month. I know that I cannot keep this up as the weight will eventually start to come back. My next mini goal is to lose 10 more pounds by August 6th. How many of you have fell off like this and how did you get back on track?

Congrats on exceeding your first goal and maintaining your weight! Don't sell yourself short. You learned some things that are still working, however, exercising 2 hrs per day will burn anyone out. Slow down and take a more balanced approach.

Keep weighing and logging your food here and go back to working out but go for less time. Think quality, not quantity. Do shorter, more effective workouts and you're more likely to stick with it.

You don't have to go to the gym if you don't want to, maybe just work on counting calories for a week. Not as low as 1200 but do 1600 or something like that, or maintenance calories. That might help you get back into the groove of things so you can eventually lower it back down to 1200 and start going to the gym. I don't think you should push yourself so hard when you aren't even motivated to do it right now. I fell off a couple times but I just kept reminding myself what my goals are and looking at some motivational pictures always helps. The hardest part is always starting, I'm sure you already know that. Just do your best to stick to it for a couple days and it should come easier after that. Good luck!

I am just starting back on MFP, I too have been struggling with finding the motivation to get back to working out and eating healthy. I have just been reading through the posts in the motivation section to try and get re focused! :) I do good for several weeks than always seem to fall off. Usually an event triggers over indulgence and I get off track from there. Only two of my close girl friends work out or watch what they eat, one lives out of state and is prego and the other we just can not get our schedules to match up to work out together. It's hard when you do not have a buddy to push you. My long term goal is to loose about 30lbs. Starting with a short term goal of 10lbs and plan to go from there! Just keep pushing! I agree the hardest part is getting started again. A few days to a week in it seems a little easier. I find I do better with 5am workouts before work. Once I pick up our son and get home it seems like I can not find the time to workout and I will usually skip it. And doing workouts in the AM seems to help keep me accountable throughout the day. Water, Water, Water. I also struggle with getting enough water! Man the struggles are real :)

I lost 40 lbs a few years ago, kept it off for 2 years then fell off track and gained 15 lbs back still struggling to get it off but the important thing is that you are reaching out which means you still want to stay on track. It's a day by day issue we have to take it one day, one meal, one exercise at a time! You did it once and have much to be proud of and you will get back on track.
