Do you make dips with your Vitamix?

Will the tamper reach deep enough to mix all the ingredients smoothly?

I was thinking of finally making my own hummus. I don't own a food processor so curious if anyone makes dips with their Vitamix. Cheers.

    Yes, I make dips all the time. The tamper does reach deep enough. I've made hummus, bean dip, and other thicker dips.

    Yup, it will work. The vitamix will make a "vortex" and pull everything through - tamper is really only to make sure things don't get hung up.

    I've even made soup with it - it blends so hard it will get food hot!

    At a bookstore I saw a book on vitamix recipes. (boy do I want one of those). I am 90% sure the first recipe I was was for Hummus. So to answer you: Yes, you can. Try googling it. Probably many videos on it. I make it without oil.
