Hi! I recently bought the Garmin Vivosmart on a whim at a going out of business sale (Sports Chalet) and it's great. It tells me when I've been sedentary too long, it tracks my sleep, it uploads my activities automatically to MFP, I'm in love! Because I'm new to fitness band game I was wondering what other brands people have and what they like about them. Thanks!

Love my Fitbit Blaze. HRM built in. When I go to workout I can choose what exercise I am doing. I can replace the band. It can connect to my phone for GPS tracking.

I had the vivofit for a little while and while I loved the device, I personally couldn't stand Garmin Connect. That pretty much ruined it for me. Granted that was a couple years ago and I'm sure things have changed since then.

I am actually currently comparing my misfit shine (1st gen) vs my fitbit flex for the next few days to compare if they get similar readings.

Misfit is on wrist, fitbit on hip.

Biggest difference is Misfit is waterproof and fitbit is not, I spend a lot of time in/around pools in the summer and I feel as though fitbits are not the best choice for that lifestyle as it doesn't count all the walking, swimming and steps I do at the pool.

Check out the Garmin Vivo line. They are pool and shower safe. And The VivoActive actually has a swimming profile.

Have the steps been comparable? I was thinking of getting a misfit 1st gen or a mi band pulse and doing a steps comparison with my vivosmart for no other reason than because I can. Is that weird?

I use the fitbit zip, it's 50 bucks and tracks steps and calories. I don't do cardio so I don't need a HRM. I also really don't like the way the wrist thing looks. Not my style. This one I can clip to my bra and no one knows it's on. It does the trick.

I had a vivofit for awhile and really liked it. I just upgraded to the Apple Watch as I wanted a smart watch as well as a fitness tracker. So far I'm pleased. I do miss the sleep feature on my garmin. But that was just for fun. And maybe a decent app will come out for sleep tracking eventually.

I like the Apple Watch so far. I like the idea of closing the rings on it. It's nice. And the activity logging is cool. I did notice the watch was a little off in distance from my treadmill but i haven't walked outside yet to calibrate it. So hopefully that gets remedied. But I'm not overly fussed about that issue right now.

I like my Apple Watch too. The step counting feature and the workout app work well for me, and synchronises very nicely with MFP, so now I don't add any exercises to my diary, just let the watch and MFP work it out between them.

I do also use Runkeeper on my phone if I want timed intervals, but for regular walking/running/cycling/yoga etc I just use the watch.

My husband uses Strava ... I'm a little more old-school when it comes to tracking my exercise.

The UA Band of course. Before that I was using the little known ZeBracelet2 by Swiss company Kronoz which I also liked for it's built in speaker/mic for music/phone calls..I felt like a secret agent!

Used FitBit Zip for about 18 months, liked it; got FitBit HR last November, use it every day, love it.

I used to have a Vivosmart, that was replaced by Garmin under warranty with a VivoSmartHR. I also use a Forerunner 310XT multisport GPS tracker and a Garmin Edge 520 cycling GPS.

The VivoSmart is interesting, but the main value that I get from it is tracking my Resting Heart Rate. That gives me an indication of how my fitness is developing, and whether I need to back off my training at all.

The main benefit from the GPS is correlation with the various other metrics that I'm tracking, and being able to exploit that in performance improvement.
