Anybody try the EODD (every other day diet) ?

I've been trying to be more mindful of my calories every other day and it seems to be working! Anybody else doing this kind of practice? I.e one day 2500 calories the next day 1200 kinda thing. What has your experience been like??

Thanks!:)

This would generally be called "calorie cycling" so try searching for that.

Well, I don't really do it to that level, but I do alternate high/low days: 1500cal one day, 1700-1800 the next to allow for treats.

Yep, i did it for 4mths and is how I lost the majority of my weight, i think it was 24lbs in 4mths. I ate 500 calories one day and my TDEE the next, then 500 the next, then TDEE and so on and so on. I found it easier to diet every other day. I never over ate on my up days, some people think they'll binge after a low day but it never happened to me.

ETA: What your describing is calorie zig zagging, not Alternate Day Fasting or EODD.

I've been on it for a week. Christine, what is TDEE? I've been eating to 2000 or 2500 on my feast day. Did you eat another amount?

TDEE = total daily energy expenditure. This is your manitenance

This is a good number to know. I zig-zag my calories with maintenance on the weekends.
