Introduction

Good morning. I am a 70 year old, MWF. I put the MFP app on my iPhone 5+ years ago, probably as soon as I began using one (which became a necessity if I wanted to keep in touch with my two daughters and seven grandsons). I have lost 51 pounds, give or take a pound, since that time; however, I've never used the app much. I log for a few days and then my busy life takes over and I forget.

Most of the weight came off after consulting with a dietitian who specializes in senior, diabetic clients. I was pre diabetic and wanted very much to keep that potential problem in check and possibly reverse it. She convinced me of the need to significantly reduce my carb intake and eliminate sugar. She had other recommendations, but those were the two major ones, at least from my viewpoint.

Currently, my blood sugar is in the normal range most of the time, but I've gotten very complacent about what I eat. I need to lost approximately 15 pounds more (maybe 20--I keep shrinking in height) and, while I know what to do, I'm no longer motivated. I continually push the limits on the types and amounts of food I eat. I joined this community to both receive and give support in the hope that I will be inspired to record what I eat and the exercise I do, as well as to provide encouragement to others who are trying to improve their health and life.
