Okay. I set my profile up to lose 2 pounds a week. It's showing I need to eat 1930 calories a day. Is that right? Isn't that a lot? I mean, especially to lose weight? I'm nutrition dumb....and I live off sandwiches. Having a desk job doesn't help either. I always heard 1200 calories a day was proper. So to lose wouldn't you eat less than 1200?

1200 calories is what a three-year-old girl eats per day. Adults who are losing weight should not drop below 1200, but their TDEE is likely well above that point, unless they are very tiny and very sedentary.

As to whether 1900 is too much or not, depends totally on your stats, there's no one-size-fits-all calorie figures.

1200 is the minimum for women for weight loss.

    What are your stats?
I lost the majority of my weight eating around 2k calories a day. At first it was like 3 lbs a week and slowed as I got closer to my goal. I was typically averaging 1% bodyweight loss per week until I hit 135 lbs or so and that's when things became really slow.

The heavier your starting weight, the more calories you will get allotted, the smaller sized people tend to have their calorie goal lower & closer to 1200. As you lose weight your given calories will decrease
