Overate after surgery?

I just had a surgery done yesterday and luckily it was minor so I'll be able to workout again within a week.

But for now, I'm sedentary.

The past two days I barely ate anything due to the surgery and today I was so hungry. I wouldn't say I binged, because I didn't eat a huge amount all at once, but I certainly ate more throughout the day. I know I've gone over maintenance for sure.

I'm starting to feel guilty, even though I know tomorrow I'll go back down to maintenance and gradually work my way back to lower calories.

Is it worth feeling bad? Or should I just relax and let myself recover? Do you think overeating one day will ruin my results? Will my other few days of under eating even this out possibly?

Thanks. :)

Nope. Not worth feeling bad. Won't do any good, and will trigger stress hormones that might slow down your healing or something :) I made that up :) Don't give it one more ounce of your energy! Happy healing!

No don't feel bad, especially because you said you barely ate the past two days. You probably had a lot of calories left over for today anyways!

:) It is good to eat at maintainence or above after surgery.

This. Healing is a lot of work & needs to be fueled properly--eat well, meet your protein macro.

First I am glad to hear that your surgery was not major. Over eating one day will not wreck your results that's a really strange psychology that I have seem to notice.

talking with many people like myself who struggled with an eating disorder or we seem to have a psychology about eating habits and fitness goals that everything needs to be 100% perfect all the time. I am not sure where the psychology comes from as everyone knows that the key to success is consistency just asked Bill Gates Michael Jordan or LeBron James.

So really don't sweat it relax recover and just get back on the horse. There have been days where I have exceeded my macro limits and within a day or two I am back to my normal weight.

I want to leave it 850 wings it was still back to my normal weight with getting back in the saddle the next days.

Wish you the best in your recovery
