Got my summer jeans out yesterday, ive had them for years and could almost be classed as vintage ! Anyway these were the 2nd pair of trousers that i have found that are now far too long, im short to begin with at 5ft 2in so cant really afford to lose any more height. Have any of you older members shrunk in height .?

I've never heard of it being quite so pronounced in the legs. Everyone shrinks a bit as they age, but it's almost always in the torso (discs in the vertebrae collapsing) and the feet (arches going flat), from what I understand.0

Did you wear different shoes? I had to limit high heel wearing and some of my awesomely long jeans had to go, they didn't work without heels.0

This. Plus posture often deteriorates. But that wouldn't affect your legs.
The last time you wore these jeans, were you heavier? I have had that kind of difference when I lose weight - the fabric doesn't span as much and the waist band sits lower so the overall effect is that the pants are too long.2 -
Did you lose weight? My jeans are always a bit shorter if I gain a few extra pounds, and return to their usual length when I lose it again.....1

At 53 yo I haven't shrunk any in height yet, but it's probably coming. If you want to know if you have shrunk, I'd suggest measuring your height with a tape measure.0

A lot of my clothes are too long for me now that I've lost weight. They just hang lower.2

I'm 56 and still 5'4". Are you sure your legs are shrinking, seems odd.0

Yeah, if they were more snug previously, they might have sat higher on your waist and hips, and now that they are loose they hang lower.0 -
As we age, there is bone loss over time so taking calcium and lifting weights is key to bone strength. I'm in my 40s, petite, and haven't seen my height change although my mother is a different story. She's shrank about 3 inches in the past 10-15 yeara and she's in her 70s.0

I've gone from 5'7" to about 5'6.5"...not a huge difference, but definitely not the same height as when I was younger.0
