Yes, the writer is sensationalizing the actual report--which was released in a Norwegian journal in June. It is the new recommendations for safe consumption levels. the contamination of farmed fish has increased--based on a 2006 study--the Norwegian government now has safety concerns(seven years after the fact of the study). Obviously, the author took it upon herself to say that Omega 3's are linked to cancer. I guess if you don't know the source of your supplements--it would be worth looking into. And avoiding farmed fish is a good idea too!

A lot of those studies are giving doses much higher than a normal person would take and then they come out with these "studies" to scare people and to ultimately cause the FDA to say "We told you so! Now lets get the regulation going and make this available only through prescriptions!"

There was a "study" done about vitamin E that concluded it wasn't needed when in fact it was. The study was for 10 years and they had a handful of people involved who were taking the supplements. The thing was that they weren't required to take a certain amount, nor were they required to write down their findings. After the 10 years they were supposed to "remember" what they felt like, how much they took etc. etc. The study was flawed however doctors take it as gospel.

And for the record because we are living longer every man will eventually develop prostate cancer.
