Handle tape or gloves?

My kettlebell has a rough parting line that I can't quite get rid of; it tears up my hands during certain movements. Does anyone have a recommendation for handle tape or gloves that won't increase the friction too much? Or inhibit my grip!

I always use gloves - cast iron kettlebells tend to have rough spots.... Got some Nike lifting gloves - men's, as the gloves made for females are ridiculously flimsy for some silly reason....

Is returning the kettlebell an option? A quality kb shouldn't have any defects like that. If not, something as simple as a gymnastic-style grip should do the trick for you.

I bought them knowing that they were far from top of the line; I bought a 5, 10, and 15 lb set for $40 on Groupon. That being said, they are well balanced and I really like big handle with the relatively small diameter; it makes my grip feel more secure.

We also have a 24lb steel-handled kettlebell but I'm not quite there for all movements!

I was wondering if a gymnastics grip would be the way to go. Everything I found has extra grippy stuff added and I felt like it was going to be bad for swings and most weight lifting gloves seems to have a lot of padding.

I'll look into those; thank you!

look for the tape used to wrap softball bat handles, it might work.
