Beer is a good investment.

I killed my rear wheel, so I took the bike to the shop to see about my options. They didn't have anything good in stock to replace it with, so we decided rebuilding it was the way forward. I was happy with the price and timeline they gave me, so I walked across the street, bought a six pack of good beer, and left it with the mechanic.
Today they called me on the phone. The shop manager said he isn't happy with the rebuild. He said that after reviewing the paperwork, this is a warranty issue. So they're going to get the wheel replaced, free of charge, and the shop will lend me a (new) wheel until mine arrives.![ ](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
The shop says this isn't related to the beer, of course. But it's nice to be on good terms with people who can help you, or not, at their discretion. A six pack costs a lot less than renting a wheel for a month while I wait for the replacement.
