Loosing the last bit of weight, and attending my first Race.

First off i hope i posted this in the right Board, if not i'm sorry.

So i've been doing alot Weight training in my last approx. 2 years and i've seen great results in terms of pain (Most of my lumbar pain is gone while working in my garden for example) and i lost about 95kg at my lowest (209 pounds) when i was at 105kg ( 231lbs ) after that i went up to 125kg (275lbs) again willingly to try out strongman/powerlifting and i've done pretty good in it, so good actually to feel accomplished in it.

And now i'd like to challenge myself to do what i've been dreaming off since i was 15 when i first saw Le Tour de France: Compete in an actual Road Race, I've set my goal on a 1 day race next year in august (Yes it's a while till then but i think i need that much time)

Since i'm technically still over the weight limit of a proper Road bike (Which according to several websites is at about 120kgs) i will get below that point in approx 3 months and then i will get my first Roadbike. So far i'm doing this form of HIIT Cardio at the gym on the bike which goes a little bit like that 15s high intensity 15s rest 30s high 30s rest and so on till im at 2 min high and 2 min rest and then i redo it for 3 cycles, and a 5 day Muscle workout Routine (Chest-> Legs/Abs -> Back -> Shoulders->Arms)

And just to throw that in there, i'm mostly clueless in terms of nutrition when it comes to endurance sports.

If you have any help for me, i'd appreciate all of it even if its just a good luck.

Being honest about it. You're going to need more than a year to prep. I've been pushing myself for two years and I got smoked in a cat 4/5 Crit race. If you're doing a sportive you'll be fine. If you're doing a race race your going to need some serious training.
