I've been avoiding the scales since I sprained my ankle late February (and just so we are clear we aren't talking about a "minor" or "moderate" sprain, we are talking.... ambulance ride, cam walker straight on, 4mths of physio & in two weeks time (5 months later!!!!) I will be getting a full ankle reconstruction! So I will be out of the gym for another 2-3 months).

I went from working out 6-7 days a week to on crutches literally within an hour, so I let myself have some mental wiggle-room eg, I knew muscle would deplete quickly & I may gain a couple of kilos back whilst I was not allowed to move.

I got on the scale last night and I want to slap myself- I am back in triple digits- I am 5-7kg up since the fall  . I promised I would NEVER see those numbers again, and yet here they are taunting me.

So my aim?

Get off my butt while I can and MOVE and stop making excuses for the bad diet that got me here in the first place!! I'll admit that I have become relaxed with my "eating" over the last couple of months (new relationship = restaurant meals & takeaway on weekends when together- which is every weekend haha) and it's time to tighten my belt!
This week I've gone back to working out HARD (and boy do my muscles hate me for it) and lifting as much as I can while I can before surgery & trying to curb the sugar/packaged intake.

I know injury has plagued a lot of people on this site- just wondering how you've come to overcome it and get back on your game? (Hitting triple digits again certainly shocked me back to reality!) And if anyone who has had an ankle reco- any advice for getting back to it?

Cheers xx
