Hi my name is Nance and I have been following Fitness Pal for a month now and really like it. I need to lose a good 100lbs. and would like to lose at least 56lbs by my daughters wedding next April. I was wondering as you lose weight does My Fitness Pal adjust your calorie intake? I also wear a Fitbit and was wondering how you add those steps to your exercise portion? Thank you for your help

Hi, Nance, I've been here since Jan 2016. I've loss 63 lbs and MFP has never adjusted my calorie intake. That would really make me mad. MFP will set your calorie goal automatically when you join, but you can go into your settings and change that amount, along with your other amounts manually . For example, I changed mine to 1200 cal, 75 carbs, 25 sugar a day. I have a fitbit, but I don't have it set up with MFP.

Thank you for your reply. Congratulations on losing 63lbs. That is amazing! Do you exercise as well? MFP wanted me on 1596 calories and I adjusted to 1500 which has been working for me. I have lost 11lbs in a month but have a long way to go.0

@flatcoatedR Super Congrats on the 63 lb weight loss! That's wonderful
It used to adjust calories on it's own as you dropped off a certain amount of lbs., let's say 10lb increments. I see it doesn't anymore. I preferred it when it did it on it's own. I have mine set to 40/30/30 on Macros and of course we all set according to what we need/prefer.
@nancy1465 Have you connected your fitbit to their community and synced it to MFP? I don't use a fitbit but belong to a fitbit group on here (planning on purchasing one). I imagine the group would be a helpful resource to answer questions on this if someone else doesn't response here first.
