Teachers and other school staff...

Options
Hi, fellow teachers (and other school staff)! I really wanted to create a group for teachers who wanted to support each other as school starts up again in the next few weeks.

We all know how busy and hectic the beginning of the year is, so I really hope this helps us all stay motivated. Whether you are a teacher, administrator, nurse, office staff, day care worker, bus driver, etc., join us and say hello!

Hey... I'm in. I don't work for the school, technically - we're a contractor. But anyway, I'm the Ops Mgr for the school bus terminal (who ends up driving one quite often because we're short staffed)

    Hello :)

    Hello :)

Welcome!! I had to drive a bus for coaching, that was terrifying! The first time I had to park the bus in the bus barn, after a game, I hit another bus lol.

What makes teachers so different from anyone else trying to be fit/losing weight?.. Coming from someone who's partner is a secondary school teacher tis no different from any other job!

I am up for anyone joining, but any teacher will tell you that the first 4-6 weeks of school is madness. You are easily working 60 hours a week, plus working at home, not to mention classroom set ups, meet the parent nights, and regular stresses of BOY. The beginning of the year is not the easiest time to focus on your health.

As OP noted - the beginning of the school year is coming up. The back to school transition is hard work for students and it requires a good bit of extra work from school staff. And when you're putting in extra 3-6 hours of work every day, it can be very easy to slip out of your workout routine or regularly scheduled meals.

Not sure what field you are in, but I am certain that you can liken it to a time of year when your office or business has a significant workload increase.

The first few weeks are insane. For my position I will not be doing my actual job until September so I will be go go go on my feet all day most likely skipping lunch to assist. Which honestly worries me...skipping lunch means I will likely grab something bad and go...I am trying to plan for that now.
