Hormonal eating --Eaten more than my calorie allotment and haven't had dinner

Today I have eaten lots of snacks with no nutritional value. This is going to make hungry. I usually eat dinner late. But I have no remaining calories. This is annoying because I don't want to reduce my calories for the next week to make it up. Today was my logging weight day. I weigh daily but log on Sundays. I know the scale will be horrible tomorrow excess food and fluid. I usually have pretty good control, except for hormonal eating. For some reason all control seems to go out the window. I applaud those who can resist and just eat at maintenance when hormones take over. I'm not so lucky. I just wanted to vent. It shouldn't be a big deal. I've lost 87.52 pounds since May of last year, and I am a bit underweight now. I just hate that out of control feeling when the hormonal cravings hit. Do others have this issue?

Why are still dieting if you are underweight? Are you eating at maintenance now?

Congrats on loosing 87.52 lbs!! I'm sure you ate hormonally during your weight loss so I think you got this:).

Yes I'm eating at maintenance. That was over my maintenance calorie allotment.

Actually I didn't get the hormonal cravings back until a few months ago. So it wasn't an issue when I was losing the majority of my weight. But I have had it since I upped my calories entering maintenance. I haven't gained from it so far, but it is scary to feel out of control.

I'm going to sound like a woo pusher, but this is 100% my experience. Possibly placebo but I'm OK with that. When that empty pit, cry over a chipped nail and rage over nothing feeling hits me, I eat 2 Viactive chews (the caramel ones to be exact). It stops that nonsense in its tracks. Years ago someone told me that hormone-crazy feeling was lack of calcium and suggested the chews. For me, and them, it works. No clue if there is valid science behind it, but women in general can usually benefit from some extra calcium anyway so I tried it.

At any rate, eat some dinner, drink some water and get good rest. Tomorrow is a brand new day.

Most definitely a hormonal eater but I also know it's coming and just try to reduce damage. I find after the 2 to 3 days of hormonal whatnot, everything tends to even out (From raging hangry for 2 days to not very hungry at all for about 2 to 3). Might try those calcium chews though!!

Same here. I'd always heard magnesium could be the culprit, especially for the chocolate cravings, but magnesium supplements don't seen to help much. Going to give this a shot.
