fat allowance?

Does everyone eat they're fat allowance for the day? I'm on 47g but noticed I only ever use around 30g. I don't go over my calories very often but I am hungry every night. I know people say it's all about calories in versus out but if I eat more fat in my food will my weight loss continue even though calories are the same?

Your total calorie count is what determines weight loss/gain.
You need to eat enough fat to maintain proper hormonal functioning. In addition, some nutrients are fat soluble, meaning that you need enough fat to help their absorption.
I generally eat my fat allowance and more. It's no unusual for me to eat 80 grams of fat per day. I view my fat goal (60 grams) as a minimum.5 -
I get about 100g of fat per day (LCHF). I don't gain unless I go over on calories.1

I usually go over on my fat allowance and it hasn't stopped me losing weight.2

I also treat the fat goal as a minimum, not a maximum. Many people find that when they include more fat in their diet, they are less hungry. It's certainly true for me, so it might be something you want to try as well.4

If you're hungry, eating more fat will probably help.
I am set to 55g which I struggle to stick to when there's peanut butter in the house!1 -
Thank you for the replies, Yeh I do agree food seems more filling when it's higher in fat. I love peanut butter too but haven't had any in months, this might just be the thing that staves off those late at night hunger pangs. Thank you all.1

I'm using a 75% fat diet, which is about 120g per day. As long as I don't eat too many calories, it's fine. I lost a lot of weight doing that.
If you are often hungry you may want to increase your fats. many find fats satiating.2 -
Dietary fat doesn't make you fat...dietary fat is essential to a healthy diet.1

Looking back at the last couple of weeks, I average about 40% of my calories coming from fat. On a given day, it may sometimes be 25% or as high as 50%. At the end of the day, I like fat and protein to be in the red and carbs to be in the green. I don't worry about setting fixed amounts or percentages.1

I eat more than recommended. Fat keeps me fuller than carbs do maybe try adding some fat to your meals so see if you stay fuller. Nuts are a great source or try cooking your eggs in some coconut oil or EVOO. Also I like full fat cheese and it keeps me full.0

Also to add I eat more fat soley because it keeps me full. You can be in your calories in vs calories out goal while still increasing your fat.1
