Hey! I've been using MFP on and off for a few years, but never taken advantage of the message boards. In the past two years I've gained roughly 50 pounds and I'd really like to lose it! I'm 23, CW: 175 GW: 130 and maybe a little more! As of now my plan is to stick under 1200 calories, work out M-F, circuit training at PF and cycling. Any advice appreciated, feel free to add me!

Hi Dear. I am new to MFP and it is my first time on message board.
Did you ever hear about "5:2 Diet". It stands for 5 days per week you eat your normal food; and two days per week you only consume 500 calories (it calls fasting days). My son, his girlfriend and my sister (she is MD) lost a lot of wait on it.
I've also gained a lot of weight in the last 5 years. My doctor told me to loose weight in 6 month or he will put me on meds to lower the blood glucose level. Therefore I started 5:2 diet about 3 weeks ago and already lost 4 lb. I do not work out due to the back problems and I am 70 years old, my metabolism is probably much slower then yours.
MFP helps me count calories along with fat and sugar intake. I plan my meals on MFP for a whole week, so I could do food shopping only 1 per week in order to stay away from tempting items. I prepare most of my meals from scratch to know what goes into it, and I like to cook. I am retired and have time to do it.
I can send you the link about 5:2 diet.
