I've got a degree in chemistry and worked in a lab for 23 years. I can pronounce 99% of the stuff in the Sigma- Aldrich Chemical catalogue. Food labels are not a problem for me.9 -

I wish people would understand that educating themselves about what they're eating is far better than being scared of things they can't pronounce and can't be bothered to carefully research.7 -

Why are people proud of their inability to sound words out? I will never understand that.
Dictionary.com has a little speaker next to the word when you look it up that *gasp* sounds the word out for you. It, like, SAYS THE WORD FOR YOU!!!
It's an internet miracle.1 -

I have been guilty of using that term. For me, it meant eating a balanced diet. Does it mean the same to every individual? No. But, if I have the option of making a homemade meal or buying it frozen, I would prefer the homemade because I know exactly what I'm adding. It's a personal preference. I try to eat a good/recommended portion of protein, carbs and fats at every meal. Hence, why "clean eating" is definitely not the correct terminology for what I have previously used it for. I've since changed my wording. Others are gun-ho about the word clean eating and believe it to be a strict diet based off they believe is true. We could have this argument for daysssss and I don't think anyone would come up with a scientific definition because it is different for everyone.
Edited for spelling error.0 -

How about taking a few minutes to learn what those ingredients are, how to pronounce them, and then decide if you need to avoid them or not instead?2 -

Many people use that as a measure by which to decide the "value" of foods. That's the reason it got so much attention.1 -

And, hopefully, you've learned it's a wrong saying.1 -

Many people use that as a measure by which to decide the "value" of foods. That's the reason it got so much attention.
And many others use it as a way to feel somehow superior to the unwashed masses who eat "unclean."
Whatever the heck that means.2
