Discouraged

I have been trying to lose weight for as long as I can remember. I'm so sick of letting my thoughts take control of me. There has to be a light bulb that's gonna turn on for me soon, right? It's so hard worring about food to the point that I eat more and more and more......I feel so defeated by my thoughts and the overall pressure to just eat healthy. I know that this isn't positive for those of you that are doing well, but I just need encouragement. I'm sick of being in a never ending cycle

Hey, you're gonna get through this! There is gonna be good and bad days, and that's ok, you just gotta figure out the best way for you to deal with those bad days in a healthy way.2

Hiya!
i feel the like that some days also. I find that saving quotes on Pinterest helps me, when I need something to read that reminds me of why I am doing what I am, health wise. One thing that works for me is that I ask myself, if I do this, or eat that, how will it make me feel? If it won't help me to reach my ultimate goal, than I tend to think twice about my choices. However, nobody is perfect, and life gets the best of me, and my choices are not always the best. That is life though, the important thing is, you get back on the wagon, and realize that tomorrow is a new day!
I would love to be friends and we can keep in touch?!1 -
Hi, with this app you can achieve your goals. Friends that you add are very supportive. More so than your real friends who help you just carry on as normal. You have to have the inner strength and desire to prove to yourself what you really want. Once you get into a routine that will make you feel so much better. There will be down days but it's how you bounce back. Feel free to add.1

Just take it one day at a time & don't beat yourself up for a bad choice. Track that choice & see how feel if you can keep your calories right then I think you should eat what you want0

If you're having trouble "eating healthy" (and that probably means different things to different people, just like "eating clean" does), then what about just eating less?
Purely for weight loss, it doesn't really matter what you eat. (Proper nutrition is a different matter, before anyone jumps on that bandwagon! ) You can still eat the foods you enjoy, you just need to weigh and measure them, find out how many calories they contain, and figure out proper/suitable portion sizes.
If you haven't already, check out the stickies at the top of each forum section - they have a ton of helpful advice.
Sometimes just getting started is the hardest thing to do, so by being here you've taken a big step. Don't try and change too much at once, just get used to weighing and logging your food regularly and then see where you could start cutting out some calories. I'd suggest not setting an 'end date' (e.g. "I want to lose 50lbs by Christmas"), but set goals to eat less, move more, and slowly improve your health and fitness. If, for example, your weight hasn't gone down after a couple of weeks but maybe now you can walk upstairs without getting breathless, that's still a huge improvement!
You can do this. I have a very sweet tooth and am also a terrible cook, but I've still managed to lose over 30lbs so far just by eating less of the things I enjoy. I've made some minor changes, like having a salad for lunch instead of sandwiches (I realised that bread has too many calories, so I don't eat it often now), and I found some lower-calorie treats that I can enjoy. Other than that, I still have pizza, chocolate, ice cream, alcohol etc. when I can fit it into my calorie goal. I couldn't do this if I had to deprive myself of treats.
Don't put it off, start now. I wasted so many years thinking that I had to starve myself, eat stuff I dislike and work my butt off in the gym, when I could have lost weight long ago just counting calories! It's simple, but it's not necessarily easy - there will be good and bad days, but you just pick yourself up, forgive yourself and move on.
Good luck!1 -
Don't beat your self up I'd did that and the best thing to do is get at it and start working hard everyday and one day at a time trying to get after your goal. You can add me as a friend if you want would love to talk to ya!1

Added you. I am at my goal weight. I lost almost 50lbs. I'm not gonna lie... It's hard work. But you can totally do it. And if you have any question, I will try my best to help you out.0

Awe, don't be so hard on yourself. Just take and one day at a time. Forgive yourself if you overeat and start fresh the next day. Set small goals. Keep healthy snacks near you. Eat in moderation. Start out walking a mile. Have patience. Patience is the key. With time if you keep working hard, you will see results staring back at you in the mirror. Remember to smile. Life's too short. Good luck on your journey. Feel free to add me!0
