Would you cut goal by 10 more or maintain current GW?

So I'm in the home stretch of my weight loss for my current goal weight (SW: 213, CW: 142, GW:140) but feel like I'm still, for lack of a better term, very broad for 140 and could stand to go to 130 which is basically the bottom of the range for my height before working on recomp via 5x5. I'm getting some resistance on this idea from other people I know so I thought I'd get objective opinions.
Would you personally stay with 140 or re-eval to 130? No offense will be taken either way. TIA for any thoughts you may have.
P.S. Yes I am looking into a 5x5 program to start on top of my running, I know I need to start weight training it just isn't in the cards for July.

Broad?? Explain?
I think you look good, you're tall, I think you might look scrawny if you lose much more.2 -
I think you look fantastic. If I were you I would maintain and get on the resistance program next month. IMO you are at a great spot for recomping right where you are now.3

This is so hard to explain to people without sounding crazy, so bear with me. I have a small frame if you follow all the measurement dealies but then I look really thick waisted and I'm not sure if thats just (a) that I'm shaped like that or (b) that my frame is bigger than I think? or (c) it looks like that because there is visceral fat I still need to deal with. Like my legs are in-line with what I thought 140 would look like but not my torso?

I see no breadth, where are you talking about?
how tall are you?
I think a progressive weight programme like you say would be great for you ...if you dropped extra BF you would have more visible musculature at a guess1 -

You look like you have quite a big chest and carry your weight from boobs to belly button - that's just your shape, IMO. a teeny deficit would enable you to lose a little more fat, see if any more comes off your middle.0 -
Visceral fat is some of the easiest to burn off and the quickest to go. I think that you just have a more ruler-ish body, which means you don't have a big difference between your waist and hips. I'm the same way. Your midsection might be holding more of your remaining fat than the other parts of your body but even as you maintain and continue to exercise (resistance exercise) you will burn that off while building muscle.1

I'm 5'9" and I'm talking rib cage to below natural waist I guess. I want to do the 5x5 more to support my knees and their pronation but I need to get on it in August, we're just travelling too much in the latter half of this monthTavistockToad wrote: »JessicaMcB wrote: »TavistockToad wrote: »Broad?? Nah just a lot of rib cage 32C/34B kind of set up- thanks kids lol. Thanks, I think the deficit will have to continue for it to maybe shift.Visceral fat is some of the easiest to burn off and the quickest to go. This is the hope, thanks @jemhh0 -

Your torso shape is defined by genetics and I see you have a baby so that too!!!
If you wanted to loose perhaps the remaining 2 pounds and then go to maint and do recomp for a while, you are at a good place for it. If you are ready for a diet break then take it now!
Are you going to do both running and weight training in Aug together? Running and weight training are two duel goals. So keep that in mind when setting up the calories and designing your weight lifting program/schedule.

I think you look great, and I'd personally just get to 140lbs and be done with weight loss. I agree with what @TavistockToad and @jemhh said above. I think it's just your shape that you're describing.

Yes three in four years, my body is likely expressing how unimpressed it is with me over that .
My thought for August @RoxieDawn was to run 7.5K 3 days a week (training for a 10K in September), and run 4K to an from the gym 2 days a week on the days I lift. I feel like that would work...in theory anyway?

I would go for a small deficit (like, 0.5 lb a week) and start recomp now. You look great - congrats!1
-
I think you look really good. I say go for a recomp with strength training/eating at maintenance. I do 5x5 with some added accessories. You might be surprised how your body changes when lifting progressively. Good luck!0

Good grief. Three babies in four years and I think you look great. I wish I could go back to my near-postpartum self, smack myself upside the head, and say get it together quickly and don't dawdle when it comes to losing the weight1 -

Girl you aren't alone, I was massive between kids and didn't even attempt to lose after 1 and 2. I often feel like I made my life harder staying like this for so long:

How old is your last baby?

You look great. Congrats on an awesome loss! Start strength training and your body will continue to change. Your waist looks nicely defined to me. What are your actual measurements? That is much better to go by than what you feel.0

Me personally I'd go to the 130lb. Infact it's basically what I am doing! However with a bit of toning around the middle you could probably avoid needing to lose that much really.1 -

At last measure I was 34.75-28-35. Definitely not destined for the 36-24-36 I always wanted haha

Your baby is adorable and you have made fantastic progress. Holy smokes, lady!
I was 30 when I had my daughter and didn't start losing until I was 37. Oof. I'll be 40 next week and I'm happy to be in the best shape of my life but I am feeling you on the making it harder by staying heavy for so long. I'll likely have permanent skin issues that would have been at least partially avoidable had I gotten on the stick sooner. You are a smart cookie for tackling this now.0 -

Just wanted to chime in with how jealous I am of your long legs! Even at 5'5" I have very short legs and a longer torso and I've always wanted long legs! And I think you look great right now! Start toning up IMO. I don't see anymore fat to lose0

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it at least, I was beginning to wonder about myself haha. I might shoot for 135-140 territory until we're home long enough for me to go into recomp.0
