??? About logging exercise with fitbit charge

I have a fitbit charge. I wore it today while running on the treadmill which helped me earn about 2500 steps and 117 for exercise associated with those steps. I then logged my exercise of running in the treadmill for 15 min and got 263 calories added to my food diary for that. So am I double-dipping or is this an accurate portrayal of my calories burned (+380 total)? It greatly affects my food intake and I want to stay as accurate as possible !

If you want to log running and other step based activities then I would unlink your fitbit. Otherwise that's what FItBit is made to do so just let it do its thing.0

It does not double dip. When you have an activity tracker connected, MFP will ask for your start and end times to overwrite the data Fitbit has accrued in that time frame. That said, what @Ready2Rock206 said is correct. Your Fitbit accounts for all step based activity, so there is no need to log it on MFP.0

Unless you go through the trouble of setting your running stride though it doesn't account for mileage correctly at a run. At 6 miles my run distances are off by as much as .75 miles sometimes. IMO the correct way to account for this is to not log step based exercise in MFP at all. I like to log my runs separately as an exercise through the fitbit app, then it will rewrite the data appropriately and pass the appropriate step count onto MFP. Thats just what works for me though others might be different.0
