Lost Opportunitues

I just wanted to put this down somewhere because I feel it's important and I'm sure I'm not the only one to experience this.
I feel that my weight has gotten in the way of me living and experiencing life!
I've missed out on things and passed up opportunities all because of being over weight. I don't want to lose out on life; I want to live it to the fullest. No regrets.
So here is what I feel I have passed up. Feel free to share what you have missed out on.
- I have a year or so where I have no pictures with my children, husband, friends.
- I have never gone as a supervisor to prom because I don't feel comfortable in a dress.
- I hate taking my kids to the pool or beach and they miss out not just me. I kept my kids out of swimming lessons for a year because I was uncomfortable.
- I had an opportunity to go winter camping with my class this past Februray and I turned it down because I knew I was not fit enough.
Now I'm not going to wait until I hit some magic goal or number on the scale to do these things. I'm going to start working on them now. It's all about celebrating little changes. I've been through this before and I know hiw good they feel!

I've hit goal, and recently (thanks to a comment from my youngest) realized that I was doing some of the same things when I was heavier. I have 2 amazing teen/tween boys, and I missed out on so much with them when they were younger. I have very few pictures with them from when I was at my heaviest. I love hiking, and I stopped going for quite a while because I was more concerned about the judgement of others than I should have been AND because I was overweight and hated wearing shorts, but was too hot otherwise.
I think it's awesome that you've decided to get out there and go without waiting for a magic scale number. I wish I had done that - You go, girl!
