Is it possible to be quite lean looking from just swimming alone?
I am currently building my fitness up and plan to begin some sort of Stronglifts programme but wondered if it is possible to stick with swimming and still achieve a lean/fit body.
Perhaps I should do both

    Yes
    Perhaps I should do both

I don't see a downside of doing both if body composition is your goal.

Well....if your goals include being a good lifter....how could your plans not include both lifting and swimming? Get your calories right and you'll be fine

I'm a swimmer. Not sure what you mean by the term lean, but if you look at Olympic swimmers they are lean but really don't have big defined muscle groups. The trick is to find the balance that you're comfortable with.

Lifting will help you get stronger which will also help you in the pool. The swimming will give you flexibility and it'll also work muscle groups that lifting cant. It's a great combination.
