Hey There!
I'm not new to MFP.. i have been here before.... i am not sure if those that were supporting me before are still around or have moved on, but i am at a place where I need to start getting fitter...
I need / want to lose about 50-60 lbs. doesn't sound like a lot to some, even to me at times i'll say that and think its doable, til i start to do it and then think what the heck did i just commit to... it is a lot harder than i realize... I CAN'T do this myself!
About me I'm 46, I work as a pc/ network tech, some days its busy, others I sit a lot. I have been going to our gym here at work for a few months 3 times a week, mostly doing cardio and stretching my shoulder in hopes of repairing a shoulder / rotator cuff injury that i have had for a long time, possibly one reason why i stopped logging and working out months ago.
I am married! to a beautiful woman! we just celebrated our 15th anniversary. She is a runner / fitness freak who sadly puts me to shame. She is so disciplined that she does everything she needs to to stay fit, she is doing WW and has just recently made her goal weight and became lifetime... So i'd have to say that she is a motivating factor for me...I want to look as good as she does... I have 2 boys 1 who is 13 and almost as big as me (height not width) and a 10 year old who has way to much energy for me...
I tried running with my wife, but i have a knee that just wont cooperate with me (ligament under knee gets so sore after a run that i can barely put any weight on it for a day or 2), I still want to try running, as i used to love doing it as a kid, so if anyone has ideas please share...
I've cut down my eating, get 3 workouts a week and seem to just maintain or lose .2 or .4 a week. for me its not good enough... time to kick it up a notch...maybe by logging and some outside support I can do this and help you at the same time???
Thanks
