Anxiety disorder

It's hard for me to jog outside despite loving the fresh air and jogging in general. I'm so preoccupied by how fat everyone must think I am as I jog down the street so I just do it in building's gym. It's definitely not the most liberating approach to working out but c'est la vie.

You're not alone...I'm the same way. Although I list multiple reasons for using the treadmill instead of the great outdoors, anxiety is my number one reason. In addition to worrying about how people think I look, I also worry about my safety, which only increases my anxiety.

If you love the fresh air, you could go hiking in addition to your gym workouts? That's what I try to do. For me, it eliminates the anxiety and fear that comes with jogging in public.

People pay you little to no attention. Really. If you want to jog outside just do it.

I am too, but whenever I go jogging, I do it at night/when the sun is setting because no one's on the street at night (and it's cooler because during the day it's scorching hot). But tbh, I don't think anyone's going to care; in fact, they might be thinking, "i should start jogging, too..." c:

Exercising and being outdoors both make my anxiety melt away like all the pounds I lost. And I never feel so invisible as when I bike or run.

People really don't care. It's all in your mind. If I ever take a moment to notice a runner or cyclist it's cause I'm admiring their outfits.

I urge you to dominate that anxiety of yours if you can. It's so much more exhilarating to workout outdoors.
