I've always been a fan of adding protein powder to my porridge, particularly after fasted cardio.

Recently been told that mixing the 2 is a bad idea - does anyone know why this might be??

Thanks

Ask the person who said that?

Was kind of hoping for an impartial viewpoint...

I can see no reason why it would be a bad idea to mix protein powder and oatmeal, unless you are allergic or dislike either.

    Nope, as @kommodevaran says - can't see a downside.

It is probably from a food combining person. There is a theory that different types of food require different digestive environments so eating two foods together that require different digestive environments results in neither being digested properly. Ultimately it says fruits should be eaten before anything else and proteins/fats and carbs should never be eaten together.

Whomever you're getting your source from is unfamiliar with how physiology actually works.

I can't think of any reason why this would be a bad idea.

There is a guy @ my gym who does something similar.

    his system:

    Fats & Protein = fine
    Carbs & Protein = fine
    Fats & Carbs = bad

I don't think it makes any sense <shrugs>

Edited... thinking about it though... his system wold still allow proats.
